What are the quality inspection standards for camera modules?
I. Appearance Standards
Structural Appearance
No scratches, paint peeling, deformation, or cracks. Solder joints are full, without cold solder joints, short circuits, or bridging. FPC flexible circuit board is free of creases, damage, and contamination of gold fingers.
Cleanliness
Lens surface is free of fingerprints, oil, and dust. Lens interior is free of blemishes, lint, and foreign objects (most affecting yield).
Dimensions
Overall length, overall height, and focal length conform to the drawings. Screw holes and positioning holes are not misaligned.
II. Electrical Function Standards
Power-on Test
Normal power-on; no image display, screen flickering, or black screen indicates an NG (Not Acceptable) error.
Resolution and frame rate must match specifications (e.g., 1080P 30fps).
Image Stability
No: stripes, horizontal lines, vertical lines, or excessive noise.
No: image drift, jitter, or disconnections.
III. Optical Image Quality Standards (Core! Industry-wide) Sharpness (MTF): Center and corner sharpness meet standards; center sharp, edges clear.
White Balance (AWB): Image not reddish, greenish, yellowish, or bluish.
Exposure (AE): Not overexposed or underexposed; normal brightness.
Low Light/Night Vision: Clean image in low light environments, with minimal noise.
WDR/HDR (Wide Dynamic Range): Not overexposed in strong light; shadows not blackish.
Distortion: Straight lines not noticeably curved (pincushion/barrel distortion).
Chromatic Aberration/Color Reproduction: Natural colors, no color cast or fading.
IV. Focusing and Motor Standards (AF/VCM)
Focusing Function
Fast, accurate, and no focus hunting
VCM Motor
No abnormal noise, no jamming, no shaking
OIS Image Stabilization (if present)
Stable image even with camera shake, no noticeable shaking
V. Reliability Testing Standards (Mandatory Testing for Shipments)
High and Low Temperature Test: -20℃~70℃, normal output.
Damp Heat Test: No abnormalities under high temperature and humidity.
Vibration Test: No loosening or detachment during simulated transportation.
Drop Test: No structural damage.
Aging Test: No system crashes or screen flickering after 4~8 hours of continuous power-on.
VI. Industry-Standard Judgment Principles (Easy to Remember)
OK: Clean, clear, stable, and without abnormalities
NG: No image output / Screen flickering / Screen distortion / Severe color cast, severe noise, severe blur / Obvious dirt or lint inside the lens / Structural damage, poor soldering, dimensional deviation
